“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” Teilhard De Chardin
How often we forget this simple fact. Especially when we are embroiled in our day to day life which largely involves a routine that means we live in auto-pilot. Ask yourself this question: are you amongst the group of people who look forward to the weekend, or are you with the group that enjoys every single day? It really is about taking responsibility in your life about where you are and choosing to be there out of choice rather than expectation. Living life on other people’s terms is never the way to happiness. No one, not your parents, partner, friends etc can tell you what is right or wrong. How you choose to live your life should be no one’s business but yours. So are you living a fulfilling life?
The quote at the beginning really summed up our life journeys on earth. We are ALL spiritual beings having a human experience. That’s the core truth, alongside the 100% guarantee that this human experience will also end one day for all of us. Life for us is finite, whilst our spiritual essence, our Soul, is infinite. But how many of us can say that we are truly living our day to day lives from the spiritual awareness, or have we entangled ourselves in the ‘Maya’ of this world. Maya is the Sanskrit word for illusion. Albert Einstein so aptly stated “reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”
Hence I refer to myself as a Life and Soul Coach as help empower individuals to live their lives with purpose, which then provides them with a sense of fulfilment and joy. No one should ever dictate what ‘joy’ means to anyone. Life is not a tick box exercise where you have to get a degree, get married, buy a house, have kids etc. It’s what Brene Brown said, “in a society that says, ‘put yourself last’, self-love and self-acceptance are almost revolutionary.” So the challenge is to put your self-first. It’s not selfish but self-care that will ensure that your life is enjoyable as it can be. Life should be an experience to be enjoyed and not endured.
“The most important thing is to ENJOY your life – to be happy. It’s all that matters.” Audrey Hepburn
